Punk actively moved away from the <a href=\"https:\/\/themesindep.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"conformities of design (opens in a new tab)\">conformities of design<\/a>, and was anti-patriotic and anti-establishment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/themesindep.com\/neomag-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/12\/photo-2-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2069\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thespork.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/photo-2-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.thespork.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/photo-2-978x652.jpg 978w, https:\/\/www.thespork.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/photo-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.thespork.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/photo-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.thespork.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/photo-2.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Punk established the do-it-yourself (DIY)\u2008ethos and stylized it with the angry anti-establishment mood of the mid 1970s, a time of political and social turbulence. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/themesindep.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"DIY style (opens in a new tab)\">DIY style<\/a> was considered shocking and uncontrolled. However, the influence on design has been far reaching and subsequently widely emulated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#c9ffe9\" class=\"has-background\">Jamie Reid, a pioneer of the Punk style, developed the visual signature look for the Sex Pistols and many other punk bands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Early Post Modernism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>His personal signature style was known for a collaged \u2018ransom note\u2019 typography that became a typographic style of its own. Reid cut letters out of newspapers and magazines, and collaged them together to be photographed. By doing this, he could see what he was creating as he went along, trying out different font styles and sizes and seeing the results instantly. Treating type as if it were a photograph also freed him from the restrictions of typesetting within a<a href=\"https:\/\/themesindep.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" structured grid (opens in a new tab)\"> structured grid<\/a> and allowed him to develop his ideas and concepts as he created. In actuality, it was one of the many forms of visual expression that manifested as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/themesindep.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Postmodernist (opens in a new tab)\">Postmodernist<\/a> movement that began as a reaction to the rigid restrictions of Modernism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote is-style-default\"><blockquote><p>Post Modernism is actually an umbrella term for many visual styles that came about after the 1980s.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Post Modernism is still in use today, though selectively. The chaos created by our technological advancements needs to be balanced with the ease of accessing information. The Apple brand is a good <a href=\"https:\/\/themesindep.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"example of a contemporary design (opens in a new tab)\">example of a contemporary design<\/a> approach that feels fresh and current, while delivering massive amounts of information in a clean and simple way.
